Carlos A. de Almeida, PhD

Carlos is a postdoctoral scholar in the Ferguson Lab at UCSF-BASIC. After earning his M.A. in Psychology, he joined the Ferguson Lab as a Staff Research Associate before pursuing a Ph.D. in Transnational Neuroscience at the University of Louisville under the supervision of David Magnuson and Eric Rouchka. Following the completion of his doctoral studies, Carlos returned to the Ferguson Lab as a postdoctoral scholar. His current work aims to elucidate how injury characteristics and patient-specific factors, such as medical history and secondary injuries, influence recovery after neurological injury.
