Luisa M Rojas Valencia, PhD

Luisa M Rojas, MS, PhD, is a Fulbright scholar from Colombia. During her doctorate studies, she joined the Neurotrauma and Social Impact team led by Dr. Jonathan Lifshitz at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine-Phoenix. Luisa's TBI effects on the gut microbiome research received a Valley Research Partnership grant in 2021 and in 2022 Luisa received a data science fellowship. Luisa is interested in the neurotrauma effects on the human microbiome-gut-brain axis and in relation to the systemic inflammatory response and gender differences. Luisa wants to bring the knowledge acquired during her graduate school experience to improve the treatment of brain injury patients and as a long-term goal return to Colombia to train new generations of Colombian neuroscientists.
